So, here’s what happened…Sly came back to the live show weekdays at 11:00am (you should know this by now). Anyways, there was about a week and a half of classic fucking shows (I mean let’s be honest with ourselves…Sly was back to normal with old classic songs, movie clips, rants and some classic fucking prank calls). Everything was going really smooth, then, something horrible happened. After another CLASSIC show, on April 16th, the main hard drive fried. And when I say fried, I mean FRIED…like chicken or burnt toast…have you ever over cooked something? Yeah that’s what happened to our hard drive. So from that point on, the complex, annoying and stressful process began to: a) get our files backed up (which isn’t fully done yet) and b) get back online to stream the show. Which leads me to my main point…we are back online and the show must go on.
After talking amongst some people this morning, Sly has said some funny ass shit. He said he’s going to be on-air from 11am – 4pm every weekday.
Who the hell does he think he is?
As we drift away from our shitty Monday…as the Mama’s and Papa’s 1966 smash hit, Monday Monday, plays in our imaginary Sly Show jukebox, let’s take it back to 2004 – 2007 (the beginning)…That IS how The Sly Show was in the beginning…LIVE.
Over recent years, Sly hasn’t been…uh, what’s the word I’m looking for…Oh that’s right, CONSISTANT, when it comes to the funny material. Sure he’s done some entertaining rants or talk moments in the past few years, but a DAILY live show? That has yet to be seen (heard).
With all the changes and un-changes being done at Fuckery Central these days, nothing surprises anyone who is actually paying attention to the moves being done at The Sly Show.
Sly had some off-air PayPal feud and chose Friday’s show to expose and put on blast, Rachael Depp from 1indienation.com for 60 minutes. Some are calling it some of Sly’s best work, however, days before that on April 1st he had a pretty epic ‘April Fool’s Day Special’, both being comedy centric shows.
Sly obviously still has his knives and it appears he found his sharpener. Only time will tell if that equates to a daily show. So The Sly Show is formally announcing the show has returned to 11am – 4pm time slot (for now…heh).

Between April 4th 2012 and March 21st 2014, a format was put in place on The Sly Show, which would be known the ‘Segment Era’.
In April, 2012…Sly had been doing ‘The Sly Show’ for about 8 years. During the first 8 years, if you tuned in to The Sly Show, you would hear Sly…acting a fool, playing music, and doing all kinds of other hilariously entertaining stuff on his daily live radio program. Prior to 2012, Sly had started doing some sports themed content around the time the San Francisco Giants were in the World Series. That wasn’t exactly received well by the current audience of The Sly Show, with them being there mostly for the comedy/entertainment. So after some time of the frequent sports content, Sly decided to turn the show/site into a segment-based platform.
From that point on, if you visited TheSlyShow.com, you could hear a wide-range of content, better known as “Segments”. Anything from music, sports, television, movies, rants and other interesting segments, all produced by Sly. “Some liked it, some hated it. I personally thought it was fun doing different types of programming, although I didn’t think it was a thing I would be doing for the rest of my life”…Sly explains
As 2014 approached Sly thought that the original format was what he was always meant to do and that’s what most people had talked about in late December as The Sly Show was set to start celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Sly Show. The Segment Era was great for Sly, as noted he wanted to do something different he was able to talk about some of his favorite TV shows, sports teams and do some content that he had never done. It was definitely interesting for him, however with the all the different content being produced, a key element had been lacking…and that was the good ol’ comedy. Sure Sly was having fun talking about the epic last season of Breaking Bad or doing a segment as the San Francisco Giants made its 2nd World Title in 2012, but the comedy was pretty much diminished.
Sly and his team of consultants have agreed that the segment era has run its course and it’s time to get back to the show. It was fun, but the show must go on, as the old saying goes.
So…the Original Programming has been activated immediately. You can expect tons of fuckery-like content to be distributed via: TheSlyShow.com. Everything will remain the same as far as the site…the links and all that. However, the format will change and be a 24-hour Sly Show hub to check out the daily show, DJ Motive mixes, and other crazy and outlandish content being done by Sly and his cast of characters.
The Sly Show celebrated 10 years online in January and ‘The Segment Era’ was a good thing, never a bad thing. Sly has always experimented throughout the 10 years. He’s done a live show, he’s done a show on video, he’s done a show in Los Angeles, he’s done a show in time of turmoil and a series of segments that the core fans probably wouldn’t like etc. That’s what longevity is in any business. Lifetimes are made of eras and sometimes you just gotta throw the pasta on the wall and see what sticks.
